Job Description

As the Business Transformation Lead – Enterprise at Westpac, you will be pivotal in shaping and driving large-scale strategic transformation initiatives across our enterprise functions. You will be responsible for leading complex change programs, optimising operational processes, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, customer experience, and business outcomes. This role requires a strong blend of strategic thinking, hands-on leadership, and excellent stakeholder management skills to navigate a dynamic and complex financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of strategic business transformation programs, from concept to implementation and post-launch evaluation.
  • Define transformation scope, objectives, success metrics, and key performance indicators in alignment with Westpac's strategic priorities.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive change management strategies to ensure successful adoption of new processes, systems, and operating models.
  • Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders across various business units, technology teams, and external partners to secure alignment and drive consensus.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimisation, automation, and innovation to deliver significant business value and efficiency gains.
  • Manage program budgets, resources, and timelines, ensuring initiatives are delivered on schedule and within budget.
  • Mentor and guide project teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to inform transformation strategies and maintain Westpac's competitive edge.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience leading large-scale business transformation or change programs in a complex enterprise environment (preferably financial services).
  • Strong understanding of change management principles and methodologies (e.g., ADKAR).
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse complex problems, develop strategic solutions, and drive execution.
  • Proficiency in project and program management tools and techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a data-driven approach to decision making.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and constantly evolving environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certifications in Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2) or Change Management (Prosci).
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Understanding of banking products, services, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification.
