Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Graduate Biotechnologist to join our research and development team in Macquarie Park. This entry-level position is ideal for recent graduates eager to kick-start their career in the pharmaceutical industry. The successful candidate will contribute to various aspects of biotechnology research, supporting the development of new therapeutics and diagnostic tools. You will work alongside experienced scientists, gaining invaluable hands-on experience in a state-of-the-art laboratory setting. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and execution of laboratory experiments related to biopharmaceutical development.
- Perform cell culture, protein purification, molecular cloning, and analytical assays.
- Accurately record and analyse experimental data, preparing detailed reports and presentations.
- Operate and maintain specialized laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and quality control standards (GLP/GMP).
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, contributing to project discussions and problem-solving.
- Stay updated with the latest scientific literature and industry trends.
- Assist in the preparation of reagents, media, and other laboratory consumables.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
- Strong theoretical and practical understanding of core biotechnological techniques (e.g., PCR, electrophoresis, western blot, ELISA, cell culture).
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Commitment to laboratory safety and ethical research practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a research laboratory setting (academic or industrial, e.g., through internships or final year projects).
