Job Description
Join CSL Limited as a Bioinformatician Intern and contribute to cutting-edge medical data research. This internship offers a unique opportunity to apply bioinformatics principles to real-world datasets, supporting the development of new therapies and diagnostic tools. You will work alongside experienced bioinformaticians and medical researchers, gaining hands-on experience with data analysis, pipeline development, and interpretation of complex biological information. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the analysis of large-scale genomic, proteomic, and clinical datasets.
- Develop and optimize bioinformatics pipelines for data processing and integration.
- Contribute to data visualization and reporting to communicate findings to the research team.
- Conduct literature reviews to stay current with bioinformatics tools and methodologies.
- Support the maintenance and curation of internal biological databases.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including biologists, statisticians, and clinicians.
- Document methodologies, results, and code for reproducibility and knowledge sharing.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, R) for data analysis.
- Basic understanding of molecular biology, genetics, or biochemistry.
- Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and databases (e.g., NCBI, UCSC Genome Browser).
- Experience with data manipulation and statistical analysis.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Biology, Genetics, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Knowledge of machine learning concepts and applications in biology.
- Previous experience with large biological datasets (e.g., NGS data).
