Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Afternoon Nanny to join our team, working across a part-time roster in Gladstone. This role is perfect for someone passionate about childcare, capable of creating a stimulating and safe environment for children, and available during crucial after-school hours. You will be responsible for providing reliable and nurturing care, supporting children’s development, and assisting with light household duties related to the children. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive and nurturing care for children during afternoon hours, including after-school pickup.
  • Organise and supervise age-appropriate activities, including homework assistance, creative play, and outdoor excursions.
  • Prepare healthy snacks and light meals for children as required.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised environment for the children.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with parents regarding children's daily activities, progress, and any concerns.
  • Manage children's schedules, including appointments and extracurricular activities.
  • Assist with light household tasks related to the children, such as tidying play areas and children's laundry.
  • Adhere to family routines and preferences, respecting privacy and confidentiality.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 12 months of professional childcare experience with verifiable references.
  • Valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) in Queensland.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage children in educational and recreational activities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience with children across various age groups.
  • Ability to swim for water-based activities (if applicable to family needs).
  • Non-smoker.
