Job Description

Join our vibrant team at Goodstart Early Learning in Lismore as an After School Care Assistant. This role is perfectly suited for university students looking for meaningful part-time work that fits around their studies. You will play a crucial role in supervising and engaging with children in our after-school program, ensuring a safe, fun, and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Plan and facilitate engaging activities, games, and creative projects appropriate for various age groups.
  • Assist children with homework and provide educational support as needed.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment where children feel valued and encouraged.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding children's daily activities and progress.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe play environment.
  • Adhere to all Goodstart Early Learning policies and procedures, including child protection guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Reliability and strong time management skills.
  • Current Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain one).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a university degree, particularly in education, psychology, social work, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a childcare, school, or recreational setting (e.g., babysitting, camp counselor).
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Knowledge of child development principles.
