Job Description

ANZ Bank is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Accounts Receivable Lead to join our Corporate Finance team in Maroochydore. This is a critical role responsible for overseeing and managing all accounts receivable activities, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, maintaining accurate financial records, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organisation. The successful candidate will lead a small team, implement best practices, and work closely with internal stakeholders to optimise cash flow and minimise financial risk. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the accounts receivable function, including invoicing, cash application, and collections.
  • Develop and implement effective collection strategies to minimise overdue accounts and improve cash flow.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train a team of Accounts Receivable Officers, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Reconcile complex accounts and resolve billing discrepancies promptly.
  • Generate accurate and timely accounts receivable reports for management.
  • Collaborate with sales, legal, and finance departments to resolve customer payment issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant financial regulations.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of AR processes and systems.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record in corporate finance or a large enterprise environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and cash flow management.
  • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Xero) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CPA or CIMA certification (or working towards).
  • Experience with automated AR systems and process improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Australian financial regulations and standards.
