Job Description
Are you looking for an opportunity to start a career in agriculture with no prior experience? Ingham’s Group is seeking a dedicated and reliable Egg Collection Worker to join our team in a rural setting near Gosford, NSW. This is an entry-level, full-time position perfect for individuals who are physically fit, enjoy working with animals, and are comfortable in a farm environment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our egg production by carefully collecting and preparing eggs for packaging. We provide comprehensive on-the-job training, so a willingness to learn and a strong work ethic are all you need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect eggs manually from laying hens throughout the day, ensuring minimal breakages.
- Carefully inspect eggs for quality, size, and cleanliness.
- Place collected eggs into trays or cartons according to company standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards within the poultry sheds and work areas.
- Assist with basic flock management duties as directed, including feeding and watering.
- Report any unusual bird behaviour, health concerns, or issues with equipment to the supervisor.
- Adhere strictly to all animal welfare guidelines and biosecurity protocols.
- Operate basic farm machinery or equipment after receiving proper training (e.g., egg conveyors).
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily production targets.
Required Skills
- No prior experience required; full training provided.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform repetitive tasks, including bending, lifting (up to 15kg), and walking for extended periods.
- Reliability and strong work ethic, with a commitment to consistent attendance.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions carefully.
- Comfortable working in a rural, farm environment, which may include dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
