Job Description
We are seeking highly motivated and reliable Parcel Sorters to join our Armidale distribution centre for the critical midnight shift. This physically demanding role is essential to ensuring the efficient flow of parcels through our network. You will be responsible for accurately sorting various sizes and weights of parcels, contributing to timely deliveries across the region. Due to the unsociable hours, this position offers attractive high penalty rates, rewarding your commitment to our late-night operations. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately sort parcels and mail into designated routes and cages based on postcode and delivery instructions.
- Load and unload parcels from trucks and conveyor belts safely and efficiently.
- Operate basic material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks) as required.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet daily sorting targets.
- Identify and report any damaged parcels or operational issues.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy parcels (up to 25kg) repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in sorting.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong commitment to midnight shift hours.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Strong team player with good communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety procedures.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar operational environment.
- Experience working midnight or overnight shifts.
- Basic understanding of parcel scanning technology.
- First Aid certification.
