Job Description

Hilton Hotels & Resorts in Fremantle is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our kitchen team as a Kitchen Steward. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with ‘no experience’ who is eager to learn, grow, and contribute to a fast-paced, dynamic kitchen environment. Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all kitchen areas, including floors, walls, and work surfaces, are clean and hygienic at all times.
- Operate and maintain dishwashing equipment, including dishwashers and pot wash areas.
- Wash and properly store all kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery, and glassware.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs.
- Support the culinary team by keeping stations organized and stocked.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals.
- Perform general cleaning duties, including trash removal and sweeping/mopping.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong work ethic and a positive, 'can-do' attitude.
- Reliability and punctuality for all scheduled shifts.
- Basic understanding of hygiene and cleanliness standards.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a fast-paced environment (e.g., retail, cleaning, other service roles).
- Current Food Handler's Certificate (or willingness to obtain one upon hire).
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
