Job Description
Join REA Group as a Casual Online Moderator and play a vital role in maintaining the integrity and safety of our online communities. This position primarily involves night work, offering flexibility for individuals seeking evening and overnight shifts. You will be responsible for reviewing user-generated content, ensuring compliance with our community guidelines and terms of service, and taking appropriate action on reported items. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong ethical judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced digital environment. Your contributions will directly impact the quality and trustworthiness of our online platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor user-generated content across REA Group platforms, including comments, listings, and forum posts, during assigned night shifts.
- Enforce community guidelines and terms of service by identifying and actioning inappropriate, offensive, or fraudulent content.
- Review reported content queues efficiently and accurately, making informed decisions on content removal, warnings, or user bans.
- Escalate complex issues or policy breaches to senior moderators or relevant teams as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of moderation actions and observations.
- Contribute to a positive and safe online experience for all users.
- Stay updated on evolving online trends and platform policies.
Required Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Excellent written communication skills in English.
- Ability to make sound judgments independently and consistently.
- Proficiency with internet browsers and basic computer applications.
- Reliable internet connection and a suitable home workspace if working remotely (though this role is specified on-site, a note on general digital readiness is good for moderation roles).
