Job Description

We are launching a comprehensive Trainee Program designed to equip you with all the essential skills and knowledge required to excel in this challenging yet profoundly rewarding role. As an Emergency Services Telecommunicator, you will be the first point of contact for individuals experiencing emergencies, requiring a calm demeanor, quick thinking, and exceptional communication skills. This position involves taking emergency calls, dispatching appropriate resources (police, fire, ambulance), and providing critical pre-arrival instructions. Key Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming emergency and non-emergency calls promptly and professionally.
  • Gather critical information from callers to assess the nature and location of emergencies.
  • Prioritise calls and dispatch appropriate emergency services (Police, Fire, Ambulance) effectively and efficiently.
  • Provide clear, concise, and accurate instructions to callers, including medical pre-arrival assistance.
  • Maintain accurate records of calls, dispatches, and other essential information in computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
  • Monitor multiple radio channels and communicate with field units.
  • Stay calm and empathetic while handling stressful and emotional situations.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and other emergency service agencies.
  • Participate actively in all required training and development programs.
  • Adhere strictly to all departmental policies, procedures, and regulations.
