Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and organised AO2 Clerical Officer to join our team in Dubbo. This role is crucial in supporting the efficient operation of our regional office, providing essential administrative and clerical services that contribute to the smooth delivery of public services. The successful candidate will be a proactive individual with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to serving the community. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and clerical support to the regional office, including data entry, record management, and document preparation.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, emails, and phone calls, ensuring timely and accurate responses or redirection.
  • Maintain office supplies and equipment, coordinating with vendors for repairs and procurement as needed.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments, meetings, and events, including room bookings and material preparation.
  • Process routine financial transactions, invoices, and expense claims in accordance with departmental guidelines.
  • Support staff with IT basic troubleshooting and liaise with IT support when necessary.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and maintain strict adherence to privacy policies.
  • Contribute to a positive and productive team environment, offering support to colleagues as required.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in an administrative or clerical role, preferably within a government or large organisational setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities, with a capacity to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate III or IV in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Experience with government specific record management systems.
  • Knowledge of public sector policies and procedures.
