Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-in Caregiver Assistant to join our team in Carnarvon. This unique opportunity offers full-time employment with the added benefit of food and accommodation provided. As a Live-in Caregiver Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the daily lives of our residents, providing essential care, companionship, and assistance to ensure their comfort and well-being. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
  • Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
  • Administer medication as per care plans and company policy, under supervision if required.
  • Engage residents in meaningful activities and provide companionship to promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment for residents.
  • Monitor and report any changes in residents' health, behaviour, or condition to the nursing staff.
  • Support residents with errands, appointments, and community outings as needed.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Document care provided accurately and in a timely manner.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated compassion and empathy towards the elderly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with caregiving (lifting, bending, standing).
  • Valid Australian driver's license (desirable for some outings).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in an aged care facility or as a caregiver.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Experience with dementia care.
