Job Description

Are you a compassionate and reliable individual looking for a flexible role where you can make a real difference in people’s lives? Anglicare is seeking dedicated Casual Companions / Caregivers to provide invaluable support to our clients in the Goulburn area. This role is perfect for those who enjoy helping others, have excellent communication skills, and are looking for flexible hours to fit around their lifestyle. As a Casual Companion, you will assist clients with daily activities, offer companionship, and help them maintain their independence and connection within their community. No extensive prior experience is required; we value empathy, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn. Full training and ongoing support will be provided to ensure you feel confident and capable in your role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide companionship and social engagement to clients.
  • Assist with light household duties, meal preparation, and grocery shopping.
  • Support clients with personal care (e.g., showering, dressing) if required and trained.
  • Assist with medication reminders and appointments.
  • Escort clients to appointments, social outings, or community activities.
  • Observe and report any changes in client's condition or behaviour to the supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for clients.
  • Adhere to Anglicare's policies, procedures, and care plans.

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanour.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid Australian Driver's License and reliable transport.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to pass a National Police Check and Working With Children Check (if applicable).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care, Home and Community).
  • Previous experience in a caregiving or support role.
  • Experience working with elderly or vulnerable individuals.
