Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and reliable Cable Pulling Labourers to join our dynamic team in Gungahlin, ACT. This is a full-time, ongoing position offering excellent pay and a consistent Monday to Friday schedule, ensuring a great work-life balance. You will be instrumental in the installation and maintenance of vital telecommunications and utility infrastructure, working on various projects across the Gungahlin region. Key Responsibilities
- Assisting skilled technicians with the installation and pulling of various types of cables (fibre optic, copper, electrical) through conduits and trenches.
- Preparing work sites, including setting up safety barriers and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
- Excavating trenches, digging pits, and backfilling as required, both manually and using basic machinery.
- Loading and unloading materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Operating hand and power tools under supervision.
- Following instructions accurately and contributing positively to team goals.
- Adhering to all company policies and procedures, particularly those related to safety and environmental standards.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and bending.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in construction, civil works, or a similar labouring role.
- Current White Card (Construction Induction Card).
- Current Australian Driver's License (manual preferred).
- First Aid Certificate.
- Experience with basic hand tools and power tools.
