Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Service Assistant to join our team at our aged care facility in Parramatta. In this vital role, you will be responsible for providing excellent meal service to our residents, ensuring their dietary needs are met with care and efficiency. This position involves working closely with our kitchen and care teams to maintain a high standard of food hygiene and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and serving of meals and beverages to residents, adhering to dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Ensure all food service areas are clean, tidy, and comply with strict food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Collect and wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
  • Monitor food temperatures and maintain accurate records as required.
  • Assist with stock rotation, inventory management, and replenishment of supplies.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and staff regarding meal services.
  • Adhere to all facility policies and procedures, including WHS guidelines.

  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks involving lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a food service role, particularly within a hospital or aged care setting.
  • Current Food Safety Certificate (e.g., Statement of Attainment in Food Safety Practices).
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
