Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Non-Profit Program Intern to join our humanitarian project support team in Toowoomba. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the non-profit sector, contributing directly to programs that make a tangible difference in people’s lives. You will support various humanitarian projects, assist with administrative tasks, and contribute to the effective delivery of our services to the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist program managers with the coordination and implementation of humanitarian projects.
- Conduct research and gather information to support project development and reporting.
- Prepare and compile project documentation, reports, and presentations.
- Support community engagement activities and outreach initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records and databases, ensuring data integrity.
- Assist with event planning and logistical support for workshops and community activities.
- Communicate effectively with team members, volunteers, and community stakeholders.
- Undertake general administrative tasks as required to ensure smooth program operations.
Required Skills
- Strong passion for humanitarian work and social justice.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- High level of organisation and attention to detail.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently on assigned tasks.
- Commitment to the values and principles of the Red Cross.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant tertiary program (e.g., International Development, Social Work, Public Health, Communications, Project Management).
- Previous volunteer experience in a non-profit or community setting.
- Understanding of basic project management principles.
- Experience with data entry and database management.
