Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant WFH Network Monitor to join our team for night shifts. This is a crucial 100% remote role responsible for the continuous monitoring of our extensive network infrastructure, identifying and escalating potential issues to ensure network stability and performance. You will be working from the comfort of your home, ensuring our systems are operational around the clock. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals with a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining critical services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively monitor network performance, health, and availability using various monitoring tools during night shifts.
  • Identify and analyze network anomalies, alerts, and potential security threats.
  • Perform initial troubleshooting steps to diagnose network issues.
  • Accurately document all incidents, observations, and actions taken in our ticketing system.
  • Escalate critical incidents to appropriate engineering and support teams following established protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams regarding network status and incident progress.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with network technologies and monitoring best practices.
  • Contribute to the improvement of monitoring processes and tools.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN, WAN)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during night shifts
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and standard office software
  • Reliable internet connection and a quiet home office environment suitable for remote work
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a network operations center (NOC) or IT support role (even entry-level)
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG)
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA)
