Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and organised Mailroom Assistant to join our dynamic team in Campbelltown. This entry-level position is perfect for an individual looking to start their career in an office environment, offering valuable experience in a professional setting. You will be responsible for the efficient handling and distribution of all incoming and outgoing mail and packages, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to various departments. This role requires attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive approach to office support.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort and distribute incoming mail, packages, and inter-office correspondence to appropriate departments and individuals promptly.
- Prepare outgoing mail, including weighing, franking, and arranging courier services as required.
- Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing mail and courier deliveries.
- Ensure mailroom supplies are adequately stocked and reorder when necessary.
- Assist with basic administrative tasks, such as photocopying, scanning, and filing, as needed.
- Operate and maintain mailroom equipment, including franking machines and mail sorters.
- Adhere to all company security protocols and data privacy guidelines regarding mail handling.
- Maintain a clean and organised mailroom environment.
Required Skills
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Basic computer literacy (e.g., using email, word processing).
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift and carry mail bins/packages (up to 15 kg) and stand for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a mailroom or office environment (even casual or voluntary experience is a plus).
- A valid driver's license may be beneficial for potential inter-office deliveries.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
