Job Description
We are seeking an alert and organised Traffic Marshall to join our team for event support in Shepparton. This immediate hire position is critical to ensuring the smooth flow of vehicle and pedestrian traffic at various events, maintaining safety, and contributing to a positive experience for all attendees. If you have a keen eye for safety, excellent communication skills, and thrive in a dynamic event environment, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Directing vehicles and pedestrians safely around event sites, parking areas, and designated zones.
- Implementing traffic management plans and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
- Communicating effectively with event staff, emergency services, and the public.
- Setting up and taking down traffic control equipment, including cones, barriers, and signage.
- Monitoring traffic conditions and reporting any issues or incidents promptly.
- Assisting with crowd control and maintaining orderly queues when necessary.
- Providing general assistance and directions to event attendees as required.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong observational skills and a proactive approach to safety.
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Physical fitness to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid Australian Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in traffic management, event support, or security roles.
- Current Traffic Controller/Management accreditation (e.g., White Card, relevant VicRoads accreditations).
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of local traffic regulations in Victoria.
