Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and reliable Tomato Pickers to join our team in a state-of-the-art greenhouse environment in Whyalla. This is an ongoing full-time position that offers consistent work, contributing to the harvest of premium quality tomatoes. You will be an integral part of our greenhouse operations, ensuring efficient and careful picking to meet production targets and quality standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Carefully pick ripe tomatoes according to established quality standards and procedures.
  • Efficiently pack picked tomatoes into designated trays or containers.
  • Monitor plants for signs of disease or pests and report findings to supervisors.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area within the greenhouse.
  • Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Operate basic picking equipment and tools responsibly.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve daily picking targets.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Physical fitness, including ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 10kg.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Ability to work effectively in a warm and humid greenhouse environment.
  • Basic understanding of English for communication and safety instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in fruit or vegetable picking, particularly in a greenhouse setting.
  • Forklift license (preferred but not essential).
  • Current driver's license and reliable transportation.
