Job Description
We are seeking reliable and physically fit Parcel Sorters to join our Morwell team on night shifts. This role involves accurately sorting parcels, loading/unloading freight, and adhering to strict safety protocols in a fast-paced environment. Excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic are essential, with high penalty rates reflecting the dedication required for night work.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately sort parcels, packages, and freight according to destination and shipping requirements.
- Load and unload trucks and containers efficiently and safely.
- Operate various material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks) as required, following training.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including manual handling guidelines.
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet daily operational targets.
- Identify and report any damaged parcels or discrepancies promptly.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to lift and move heavy parcels (up to 25kg) repeatedly.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliability and punctuality, especially for night shift schedules.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar physical role.
- Forklift licence (desirable, but not essential).
- Current driver's license and reliable transportation.
