Job Description
Riverina Aquatic Services is seeking a diligent and customer-focused Marina Dockhand to join our team in Wagga Wagga. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role vital to the smooth operation of our marina and the satisfaction of our guests. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting boaters, maintaining marina facilities, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, have a passion for the marine environment, and thrive in a customer-facing role.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist boaters with docking, fueling, and departure procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service, answering inquiries and offering assistance with a positive attitude.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of docks, walkways, and marina grounds.
- Operate and maintain marina equipment, including fuel pumps, golf carts, and small watercraft.
- Monitor marina activity to ensure safety and adherence to regulations.
- Assist with the rental and return of water sports equipment (e.g., kayaks, paddleboards).
- Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs on marina facilities as needed.
- Handle lines and fenders skillfully.
- Report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or maintenance needs to management.
Required Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of boating safety and terminology.
- Manual dexterity and a good sense of balance.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a marina, boating, or customer service role.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Boating license or experience operating small watercraft.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Knowledge of local waterways (Murrumbidgee River).
