Job Description
Ventia is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Traffic Controllers in Mount Gambier. This is an exciting opportunity for those looking to start a career in infrastructure, with comprehensive paid training provided. No prior experience is necessary – we’ll equip you with all the skills and certifications required to excel. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of road users, pedestrians, and site personnel by effectively managing traffic flow around work sites. Key Responsibilities
- Safely direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic around construction and maintenance sites using approved signals and equipment.
- Set up and pack down traffic management signs, barriers, and devices according to site-specific plans and safety regulations.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with drivers, pedestrians, and fellow team members.
- Monitor traffic flow and adjust controls as necessary to maintain safety and minimize disruption.
- Adhere strictly to all WHS policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE.
- Conduct pre-start checks on equipment and ensure all gear is in good working order.
- Complete necessary paperwork and daily logs accurately.

- High level of attention to detail and situational awareness.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety (WHS).
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Physical fitness to stand for long periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid Australian Driver's License (manual preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Construction Induction Card (White Card).
- Basic knowledge of traffic management plans (will be taught during training).
- Prior experience in outdoor or manual labour roles.
