Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Procurement Lead specializing in the Mining & Construction sector to join our team in Lismore, NSW. This pivotal role involves managing the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for critical materials, equipment, and services essential for our mining and construction operations. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of market dynamics, supplier relationship management, and a proven track record of delivering cost efficiencies and supply chain resilience within heavy industry environments. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing procurement strategies that align with our operational goals and foster sustainable, high-value partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic procurement plans for mining and construction materials, equipment, and services.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including contract negotiations, performance monitoring, and dispute resolution.
  • Identify and evaluate new suppliers to optimize cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, mitigate risks, and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (operations, engineering, finance) to understand requirements and ensure alignment.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical sourcing standards.
  • Prepare and present reports on procurement performance, savings, and key metrics.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, specifically within the mining or construction industry.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage complex supply chains and large-scale procurement projects.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain or Business.
  • CIPS certification or equivalent professional procurement qualification.
  • Experience with sustainable and ethical sourcing practices.
  • Knowledge of Australian regulatory frameworks relevant to mining and construction.
