Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Hospital Ward Support within the Public Health Sector in Devonport, Tasmania. In this vital role, you will provide essential non-clinical support to nursing staff and patients, contributing to a clean, safe, and comfortable environment on our hospital wards. This position is crucial for maintaining the smooth operation of our healthcare facilities and ensuring patients receive the best possible care during their stay. Key Responsibilities
- Assist nursing staff with non-clinical tasks, including patient transport, mobility assistance, and feeding support as directed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of patient rooms, common areas, and utility rooms.
- Restock supplies, linen, and equipment on wards.
- Transport specimens, records, and other materials within the hospital.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, adhering to privacy and confidentiality policies.
- Report any observations or concerns regarding patients or the ward environment to the appropriate nursing staff.
- Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Ensure patient comfort by adjusting beds, providing blankets, and responding to non-medical requests.
