Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Pipeline Integrity Engineer to join our team in Mount Barker, South Australia. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to develop expertise in pipeline integrity management within a leading energy infrastructure company. Under the guidance of experienced engineers, you will contribute to monitoring, assessing, and maintaining the integrity of our extensive pipeline network, ensuring safe and reliable operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the analysis of pipeline inspection data, including in-line inspection (ILI) reports and direct assessment results.
- Support the evaluation of pipeline defects and anomalies, contributing to risk assessments and repair recommendations.
- Participate in the development and implementation of pipeline integrity management plans and procedures.
- Aid in monitoring pipeline performance parameters and identifying potential integrity threats.
- Contribute to incident investigations and root cause analysis related to pipeline integrity.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation related to integrity activities.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including operations, maintenance, and project engineering.
- Keep abreast of industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to pipeline integrity.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Materials, Chemical, or equivalent).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic understanding of material science and corrosion principles.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for learning and development in pipeline integrity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship or project experience in the oil & gas, utilities, or heavy industry sectors.
- Familiarity with GIS software or data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of pipeline codes and standards (e.g., AS 2885, API, ASME).
- Understanding of integrity assessment techniques (e.g., NDT methods, fitness-for-service).
