Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and meticulous WFH Compliance Officer to join our dynamic Financial Services team. This critical role ensures our operations adhere to all relevant financial regulations, internal policies, and industry best practices. The successful candidate will be instrumental in identifying, assessing, and mitigating compliance risks, contributing to the bank’s continued reputation for integrity and stability. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and interpret new and existing financial regulations (e.g., APRA, ASIC, AUSTRAC) to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal compliance policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular compliance reviews, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Provide expert advice and training to business units on compliance matters.
  • Investigate and report on compliance breaches, recommending corrective actions.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors as required.
  • Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management.

Required Skills

  • Deep understanding of Australian financial services regulations.
  • Proven experience in a compliance role within the financial industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
  • High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in Compliance (e.g., ICA, ACAMS).
  • Experience with regulatory technology (RegTech) solutions.
  • Master's degree or Juris Doctor.
