Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Vineyard Maintenance Hand to join our team in Port Augusta. This is a full-time, ongoing position with year-round work, offering stability and the opportunity to grow within the viticulture industry. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks essential to the health and productivity of our vineyards, ensuring our vines receive the best care throughout all seasons. Key Responsibilities
- Perform vineyard tasks including pruning, trellising, shoot thinning, and canopy management.
- Assist with irrigation system maintenance and repair.
- Operate various vineyard machinery and equipment safely, such as tractors, mowers, and trimmers (training provided where necessary).
- Participate in pest and disease monitoring and control measures.
- Conduct general property maintenance, including fencing, weed control, and equipment cleaning.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Work collaboratively with the vineyard team to achieve production goals.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and prolonged standing.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures or willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in vineyard operations or general agricultural work.
- Experience operating farm machinery (e.g., tractors, forklifts).
- Current driver's license.
- First Aid certification.
