Job Description

Esperance Veterinary Clinic is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Vet Clinic Helper. This entry-level position is perfect for someone with little to no prior experience, offering a unique opportunity to learn and grow within a supportive environment. As a Vet Clinic Helper, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our clinic, ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our animal patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting veterinary staff with animal restraint during examinations and procedures.
- Cleaning and maintaining kennels, cages, and patient rooms to the highest sanitary standards.
- Feeding and walking animals under care, monitoring their well-being, and reporting any changes to veterinary technicians.
- Sterilizing surgical instruments and preparing examination rooms.
- Restocking supplies, laundry, and maintaining general clinic cleanliness.
- Providing compassionate care and comfort to hospitalized animals.
- Greeting clients and their pets with a friendly and welcoming demeanor.
- Supporting front desk operations, including answering phones and scheduling appointments, as needed.
Required Skills
- Genuine love for animals and a compassionate approach.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work effectively in a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Physical ability to lift up to 20kg and stand for extended periods.
- No prior veterinary experience required; we will train the right candidate.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of animal behavior or prior experience with animal handling (e.g., volunteering at a shelter).
- First Aid certification.
