Job Description

Join The Salvation Army Australia as an Usher/Door Steward in Gosford, contributing to the seamless execution of our diverse church services and community events. This vital role involves welcoming attendees, providing directional assistance, managing access points, and ensuring a safe and positive experience for everyone. You will be a key point of contact, embodying our values of compassion and service, and helping to foster an inclusive and orderly environment for all participants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly welcome all attendees and visitors to church services and community events.
  • Provide clear directions to seating areas, restrooms, emergency exits, and other facilities.
  • Manage entry and exit points, ensuring smooth flow of traffic and adherence to event guidelines.
  • Assist individuals with special needs or mobility challenges, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Monitor event areas for any potential safety hazards or issues and report them promptly.
  • Distribute programs, information brochures, or other materials as required.
  • Respond to attendee inquiries with professionalism and a helpful attitude.
  • Assist with crowd management and maintain order during high-attendance events.
  • Collaborate effectively with event organizers, staff, and volunteers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • First Aid and/or CPR certification.
