Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and driven Unpaid Intern to join our Fashion Design team in Perth. This is an incredible opportunity for an aspiring fashion professional to gain hands-on experience, learn from industry experts, and contribute to the creative process of a prominent Australian brand. You will assist our design team across various stages of the fashion lifecycle, from concept development to sample production, gaining invaluable insights into the industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the design team with research and development of seasonal trends, fabrics, and trims.
  • Support in the creation of mood boards, colour palettes, and presentation materials.
  • Help prepare technical drawings and design specifications.
  • Organize and maintain the design studio, fabric library, and sample archives.
  • Assist with sample management, including tracking, labeling, and quality checks.
  • Provide administrative support to the design department as needed.
  • Participate in design meetings and brainstorming sessions.
  • Contribute creative ideas and fresh perspectives to ongoing projects.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a fashion design program.
  • Basic understanding of garment construction, textiles, and fashion trends.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with a fashion design portfolio (academic or personal projects).
  • Familiarity with fashion industry software like Lectra, Gerber, or similar CAD programs.
  • Knowledge of sustainable fashion practices.
