Job Description

Are you a highly motivated individual with boundless energy looking for an immediate start in a dynamic team environment? Toll Group is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Truck Offsiders to join our operations in Mount Barker, South Australia. This physically demanding role involves assisting our truck drivers with loading, unloading, and securing freight, ensuring safe and timely deliveries. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist truck drivers with the safe and efficient loading and unloading of various types of freight and cargo.
  • Secure freight properly using straps, chains, and other equipment to prevent movement during transit.
  • Verify load accuracy against delivery manifests and report any discrepancies.
  • Perform manual handling tasks, including lifting, carrying, and maneuvering items.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment within the truck and at delivery sites.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including manual handling guidelines.
  • Provide excellent customer service during deliveries and pickups.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, dispatch, and customers.
  • Assist with route navigation and problem-solving on the road when required.

  • High level of physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding manual tasks.
  • Exceptional work ethic and a proactive 'can-do' attitude.
  • Reliable and punctual, with a strong commitment to attendance.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a logistics, removals, or warehouse environment.
  • Current valid Australian Driver's License (Car or higher).
  • Basic knowledge of freight handling and securing techniques.
  • First Aid certification.
