Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Town Planning Lead to join our Urban Development team in Truganina, Victoria. This pivotal role involves leading complex urban development projects, providing expert planning advice, and mentoring junior planners. You will be instrumental in navigating regulatory landscapes, ensuring project compliance, and fostering sustainable growth within dynamic urban environments. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of urban development projects from conception to completion.
- Provide expert town planning advice and strategic guidance to clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
- Prepare, lodge, and manage planning applications, ensuring compliance with local, state, and national regulations.
- Conduct comprehensive site analysis, master planning, and feasibility studies.
- Engage with government authorities, community groups, and other stakeholders to facilitate project approvals.
- Mentor and support junior planning staff, fostering their professional development.
- Contribute to business development activities, including preparing proposals and securing new projects.
Required Skills
- Minimum 8 years of experience in town planning or urban development.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Urban Planning, Regional Planning, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in leading complex planning projects within Australia, particularly Victoria.
- In-depth knowledge of the Victorian Planning Provisions and relevant legislation.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Membership with the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA) or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with major infrastructure projects or large-scale master-planned communities.
- Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS) and other planning tools.
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field.
- Strong network within the Victorian planning and development industry.
