Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and qualified English language professionals to join our team as TOEFL / IELTS Examiners. This contract role involves assessing the English language proficiency of candidates taking the TOEFL or IELTS examinations, ensuring strict adherence to global assessment standards and procedures. Examiners play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and quality of these globally recognised tests.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Speaking tests for IELTS candidates, adhering strictly to the IELTS test format and assessment criteria.
- Evaluate written responses (Writing tests) for IELTS or TOEFL, providing accurate and consistent scoring according to established rubrics.
- Maintain the highest standards of impartiality and professionalism during all assessment activities.
- Ensure all test materials are handled securely and confidentially.
- Participate in regular standardisation and training sessions to ensure consistency in assessment.
- Report any irregularities or concerns to the Test Centre Administrator.
- Adhere to all operational and administrative procedures set forth by IDP Education and the relevant test organisations.
Required Skills
- An undergraduate degree or equivalent.
- A recognised English language teaching qualification (e.g., CELTA, DELTA, TESOL, TEFL).
- Extensive recent English language teaching experience (minimum 3 years post-qualification).
- Native or near-native English speaker proficiency.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict guidelines.
- Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as an IELTS or TOEFL examiner.
- Postgraduate degree in Linguistics, English Language Teaching, or a related field.
- Experience in academic assessment or educational measurement.
- Familiarity with computer-delivered testing environments.
