Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Student Drafting Intern to join our dynamic team in North Sydney. This is an excellent opportunity for a current student passionate about architecture, engineering, or construction to gain hands-on experience with Revit and Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes. You will work alongside experienced professionals, contributing to real-world projects and developing valuable skills in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior drafters and engineers in preparing detailed architectural and engineering drawings using Revit.
  • Support BIM coordination efforts, including clash detection and model maintenance.
  • Create and modify families and components within the Revit environment.
  • Ensure all drafting work adheres to project standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with project teams to understand design requirements and translate them into accurate technical drawings.
  • Maintain organized project files and documentation.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
  • Basic understanding of BIM principles and workflows.
  • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to interpret architectural and engineering plans.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Architecture, Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical), Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Prior experience with other design software (e.g., Rhino, SketchUp) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Australian building codes and standards.
