Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Site Lead to join our dynamic team in Ballarat. The Site Lead will be responsible for overseeing all on-site construction and engineering activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, excellent problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of construction methodologies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise all on-site construction activities, including civil, structural, and architectural works.
- Ensure strict adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Implement and enforce all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures on site.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless project execution.
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks, identifying and rectifying any issues promptly.
- Prepare daily and weekly progress reports, documenting site activities, challenges, and resolutions.
- Manage site logistics, material procurement, and equipment allocation efficiently.
- Foster a positive and collaborative working environment, mentoring junior staff as required.
- Resolve technical issues and conflicts that may arise during construction.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Site Lead, Site Supervisor, or similar role within the construction and engineering industry.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, processes, and project management principles.
- In-depth knowledge of Australian building codes, standards, and WHS regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and work under pressure.
- Valid Australian Driver's License and White Card (Construction Induction Card).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience with project management software (e.g., Aconex, Procore).
- Familiarity with sustainable building practices and green construction initiatives.
