Job Description

Ampol in Port Hedland is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as Service Station Attendants. No prior experience is required – we provide comprehensive training! You will be the friendly face of Ampol, assisting customers, processing transactions, and ensuring our station runs smoothly and safely during overnight hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service, greeting customers warmly and assisting with their needs.
  • Operate the point-of-sale system accurately to process fuel and convenience store transactions.
  • Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments, ensuring correct change and reconciliation.
  • Restock shelves, rotate products, and ensure the store is clean, tidy, and well-organized.
  • Monitor fuel pumps and forecourt areas, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Perform basic cleaning duties for the store, restrooms, and exterior areas.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures as required during night shifts.
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve minor issues efficiently and courteously.

Required Skills

  • Ability to work night shifts reliably and independently.
  • Strong customer service orientation and a friendly demeanor.
  • Basic mathematical skills for handling transactions.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new procedures.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting (up to 15kg).
  • Commitment to safety and security guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role (e.g., retail, hospitality) is a bonus but not required.
  • First Aid certification is desirable.
