Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and vigilant Security Marshalls to join our professional team on a part-time night roster in Hobart. As a Security Marshall, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients’ premises, assets, and personnel during night hours. This role requires excellent observational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to respond effectively to various security situations. You will play a crucial role in preventing incidents, reporting any unusual activity, and ensuring compliance with security protocols. This position is ideal for individuals looking for consistent night work within a professional and supportive security organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of designated areas, internal and external, during night shifts.
- Monitor surveillance equipment and alarm systems for any signs of intrusion or suspicious activity.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms and emergency situations, following established protocols.
- Deter theft, vandalism, and other illegal activities through visible presence and active monitoring.
- Document and report all incidents, irregularities, and maintenance issues accurately and timely.
- Enforce access control procedures, ensuring only authorised personnel enter restricted areas.
- Provide assistance to staff and visitors as required, maintaining a professional and helpful demeanor.
- Liaise with emergency services (police, fire, ambulance) when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and client specific security procedures.
Required Skills
- Current Security Officer Licence (Crowd Controller endorsement preferred).
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively during night hours.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong observational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Physical fitness to conduct patrols and stand for extended periods.
- Reliable transport to and from work for night shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a security role, particularly night shift operations.
- Experience with security monitoring systems and CCTV.
- Certificate II or III in Security Operations.
- A valid driver's license.
