Job Description

We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Seafood Sorters for early morning shifts at our Bunbury facility. This is a crucial role within our operations, ensuring that all incoming seafood meets our stringent quality standards before processing and distribution. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, cool environment and be committed to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently sort various types of seafood according to quality, size, and species specifications.
  • Identify and remove any damaged, substandard, or foreign materials from seafood products.
  • Operate basic processing equipment and conveyor belts as required.
  • Package sorted seafood into designated containers for further processing or dispatch.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic workstation throughout shifts.
  • Adhere strictly to all food safety regulations and company policies.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to meet daily production targets.

Required Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify quality discrepancies.
  • Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 15kg.
  • Ability to work in a cold and wet environment.
  • Reliability and punctuality for early morning shifts.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety practices.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a seafood processing, food production, or similar environment.
  • Experience with HACCP or other food safety management systems.
  • Forklift license (though not essential, an advantage for internal progression).
