Job Description
Are you looking for a fulfilling role that fits around your family commitments? Fremantle College is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable School Canteen Helper to join our friendly team. This part-time position is ideal for stay-at-home parents seeking flexible hours within school terms. You will play a crucial role in the daily operation of our school canteen, ensuring students and staff receive delicious and healthy meals in a clean and welcoming environment. Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with food preparation, including basic cutting, washing, and cooking under supervision.
- Serving food and beverages to students and staff during designated service times.
- Operating cash register and handling payments accurately.
- Maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen and serving area, including washing dishes and cleaning equipment.
- Restocking shelves and ensuring adequate supplies are available.
- Adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Collaborating with other canteen staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety practices (or willingness to learn).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen, catering, or customer service role.
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain one.
- Basic first aid knowledge.
