Job Description

Hedland Senior High School is seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Canteen Helper to join our dedicated team. This part-time role is perfectly suited for individuals, particularly stay-at-home parents, looking for flexible hours that align with school schedules. You will be instrumental in the daily operation of our school canteen, ensuring a positive experience for our students and staff by assisting with food preparation, serving, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with basic food preparation, including washing, chopping, and assembling simple meals.
  • Serve food and beverages to students and staff during recess and lunch breaks.
  • Operate point-of-sale systems and handle cash/card transactions accurately.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the canteen, including washing dishes, wiping surfaces, and general tidying.
  • Restock shelves and displays with food items, drinks, and snacks.
  • Assist with inventory management and reporting low stock levels.
  • Ensure a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for all patrons.
  • Adhere to all food safety and health regulations.
