Job Description
Are you looking to start a rewarding career in the construction industry? Swan Hill Roofing & Construction is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Roofer’s Assistant to join our growing team. This is an entry-level position perfect for individuals with no prior roofing experience who are eager to learn the trade. We provide all necessary safety gear and comprehensive on-the-job training to ensure you develop the skills needed to succeed in a safe and supportive environment. If you’re physically fit, reliable, and have a strong work ethic, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced roofers with various tasks on residential and commercial sites.
- Help with the preparation of work sites, including setting up safety equipment and materials.
- Load and unload roofing materials and tools.
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment.
- Perform general labour duties as required.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Support the team in achieving project deadlines and quality standards.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, and climbing.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Basic understanding of English for communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Australian Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
- Construction Induction Card (White Card) – desirable but training can be provided.
- Previous experience in a manual labour role (any industry).
