Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Road Line Marker to join our dynamic team in Mildura for night work. This crucial role involves the precise application of road markings, ensuring clarity, safety, and compliance with all relevant Australian standards. As a skilled operator, you will be responsible for operating specialized equipment, maintaining machinery, and working efficiently in a night-time environment. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will be paramount in delivering high-quality results that support our local communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain specialized road marking equipment, including paint machines, thermoplastic applicators, and line removal machinery.
- Accurately apply various road markings (lines, arrows, symbols, stencils) according to plans, specifications, and Australian standards.
- Prepare surfaces for marking, including cleaning, grinding, and removal of existing lines.
- Handle and mix marking materials (paint, glass beads, thermoplastic) safely and efficiently.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure markings meet specified dimensions, reflectivity, and durability.
- Implement and adhere to all traffic management plans, safety protocols, and environmental regulations, especially during night operations.
- Perform pre-start checks, routine maintenance, and minor repairs on equipment.
- Work effectively as part of a team, communicating clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
- Complete necessary documentation, including job sheets, logbooks, and incident reports.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in road line marking.
- Demonstrated proficiency in operating various road marking machinery.
- Thorough understanding of relevant Australian road marking standards and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Valid Australian Driver's License (HR class preferred).
- Current White Card (Construction Induction Card).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a demanding environment.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Traffic Management Implementer accreditation.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Confined Space Entry and Working at Heights certification.
- Mechanical aptitude for basic equipment maintenance.
- Experience with computerised line marking systems.
