Job Description
Embark on an exciting journey into the heart of the renewable energy sector with Vestas as a Renewable Energy Cadet. This unique mentorship program is designed for passionate individuals with little to no prior experience, offering comprehensive hands-on training and guidance from seasoned wind turbine technicians. You will learn the fundamentals of wind turbine operation, maintenance, and safety protocols, contributing to a sustainable future. Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in on-the-job training sessions and workshops.
- Assist senior technicians with routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of wind turbines.
- Learn and adhere strictly to all safety procedures and environmental regulations.
- Document observations, findings, and completed tasks accurately.
- Support the team in preparing tools and equipment for site visits.
- Develop a foundational understanding of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems within wind turbines.
- Contribute to a positive and safety-conscious team environment.
Required Skills
- Eagerness to learn and a strong commitment to safety.
- Excellent work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously.
- Basic mechanical aptitude or willingness to develop it.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical fitness to perform tasks in various weather conditions and at heights (with proper safety training).
Preferred Qualifications
- A valid Australian driver's license (manual preferred).
- Completed or currently undertaking VET qualifications in a related technical field (e.g., electrical, mechanical, engineering).
- Demonstrated interest in renewable energy or environmental sustainability.
- Basic computer literacy.
