Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Remote Medical Writer with a strong focus on healthcare knowledge to join our dynamic global team. This is a 100% remote position. As a Medical Writer, you will be responsible for developing high-quality, scientifically accurate, and clear medical and scientific content across a variety of therapeutic areas. This role requires exceptional writing skills, a solid understanding of medical and scientific principles, and the ability to synthesize complex information for various audiences. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, clients, and key opinion leaders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of projects that meet all regulatory and client-specific requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and write a wide range of medical communications materials, including scientific manuscripts, abstracts, posters, slide decks, review articles, and regulatory documents.
- Conduct comprehensive literature searches and critically appraise scientific data to ensure accuracy and scientific integrity of content.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including medical directors, statisticians, and regulatory affairs, to integrate scientific and strategic input.
- Ensure all content adheres to relevant guidelines, ethical standards, and client specifications.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.
- Participate in client meetings and provide scientific expertise as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of assigned therapeutic areas and medical writing best practices.
Required Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proven ability to understand and interpret complex scientific and medical data.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in scientific literature searching and critical appraisal.
- Advanced degree (MSc, PharmD, PhD) in a life science discipline.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Medical Writer in a CRO, pharmaceutical company, or medical communications agency.
- Experience across multiple therapeutic areas, especially oncology, rare diseases, or immunology.
- Familiarity with regulatory guidelines (e.g., ICH, FDA, EMA) and publication ethics (e.g., ICMJE).
- Experience with reference management software (e.g., EndNote, Zotero).
