Job Description

We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as a Casual Postal Sorter, providing essential government support services. Key Responsibilities

  • Sort incoming and outgoing mail, parcels, and packages according to established procedures and destinations.
  • Operate mail processing machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Load and unload postal items from vehicles and containers, ensuring careful handling.
  • Perform manual handling tasks, including lifting and moving mail bags and trays.
  • Conduct quality checks on sorted mail to ensure accuracy and prevent errors.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and operational guidelines.
  • Assist with other general warehouse or sorting centre duties as required.

Required Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
  • Good physical stamina and ability to lift up to 20kg repeatedly.
  • Reliability and punctuality are essential.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions precisely.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a warehousing, logistics, or postal sorting role.
  • A valid Australian driver's license and reliable transport.
  • Forklift license (LF) is a bonus but not essential.
  • Understanding of occupational health and safety (OHS) practices.
