Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Pipe Layer Assistant to join our civil construction team in Lismore. This is an entry-level opportunity for individuals keen to start a career in civil works, with no prior experience required. You will work alongside experienced pipe layers, assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of various piping systems for water, sewerage, and stormwater infrastructure. This role offers excellent on-the-job training and a clear pathway for career progression within the civil construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist skilled pipe layers in the installation of pipes, fittings, and other infrastructure components.
  • Perform manual labor tasks such as digging trenches, backfilling, and preparing work sites.
  • Handle and transport materials, tools, and equipment safely.
  • Ensure adherence to all site safety regulations and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area.
  • Operate basic hand tools and power tools under supervision.
  • Support the team in conducting quality checks on installed pipes.
  • Learn and understand construction plans and specifications.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

  • Current Australian Driver's License (Manual preferred).

  • Previous experience in a physically demanding role (e.g., labouring, landscaping) is a plus, but not essential.
