Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Piling Rig Operator to join our dynamic team for upcoming infrastructure projects in the Penrith region of NSW. As a Piling Rig Operator, you will be crucial in laying the foundational groundwork for major roads, bridges, and other critical infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, a keen eye for detail, and proven experience operating various piling rigs in complex construction environments. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of piling machinery, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and within project timelines. Key Responsibilities
- Operate various piling rigs (e.g., rotary, CFA, driven piles) safely and efficiently for infrastructure projects.
- Perform pre-start checks, routine maintenance, and fault finding on machinery.
- Adhere strictly to all site safety procedures, company policies, and relevant Australian standards.
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to execute piling operations accurately.
- Work collaboratively with site supervisors, engineers, and other team members.
- Ensure the quality of piling work meets project specifications and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate daily logbooks and reporting for all activities.
- Identify and report any mechanical issues or safety hazards promptly.
- Assist with the mobilisation and demobilisation of piling equipment.
- Contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Piling Rig Operator on infrastructure or civil construction projects.
- Current HR or HC driver's license.
- Valid High-Risk Work Licence (HP – Piling Rig).
- Strong understanding of piling techniques, methods, and safety protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor maintenance tasks.
- Physical fitness to perform duties in a demanding outdoor environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualifications in Civil Construction Plant Operations.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Experience with various types of piling rigs (e.g., Soilmec, Bauer, Liebherr).
- White Card (Construction Induction Card).
