Job Description

Are you passionate about photography and eager to gain hands-on experience in a professional setting? The Daily Liberal is seeking a motivated Photography Assistant Intern to join our team in Dubbo. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced photographers, assisting with both studio and field assignments. You’ll contribute to capturing compelling images for news, features, and various community events, gaining invaluable insights into the daily operations of a regional media outlet. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist lead photographers during studio shoots and on-location assignments, including setting up and breaking down equipment.
  • Help manage and organize photography gear, ensuring all equipment is well-maintained and ready for use.
  • Support with basic image post-production tasks, such as culling, basic adjustments, and file management.
  • Transport equipment and occasionally assist with driving to various shoot locations.
  • Learn and apply best practices for various photography styles, including portrait, event, and documentary photography.
  • Collaborate with editorial and production teams to understand project requirements and deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized studio space and equipment storage area.

  • Basic understanding of photography principles and camera operation.

  • Valid Australian driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom for basic image editing.
